Is Viridel free?

Yes — a 34-day full Free trial of Ready to Assign on the web (local-first; Google sign-in required). After the trial, unlock Lifetime (€50 once) for unlimited budgeting, full history, Insights, and backup/CSV export. Native apps ship Q1 2027 free for Lifetime. Cloud sync and shared household are an optional hosting add-on — not included in Lifetime alone.

What is the difference between Free, Lifetime, and the cloud add-on?

Free = a 34-day full-experience trial of Ready to Assign on the web. After the trial, writes lock until you unlock Lifetime. Lifetime (€50 once) = unlimited budgeting + full history + Insights + JSON/CSV backup & export on web now; native apps Q1 2027 included. The optional cloud add-on (€4/mo, or €40/yr yearly) is a hosting pass for cloud sync and partner household — not how you rent the app. GDPR download stays available on every plan.

Does Plus include desktop or mobile apps?

Plus alone does not unlock native apps. Lifetime keeps the web product unlimited and includes native apps when they ship Q1 2027. Free + Plus only syncs browser sessions on the website. Lifetime + Plus syncs web, desktop, and mobile together and unlocks shared household budgeting.

Is there a subscription for the core product?

No. Budgeting, accounts, registers, bills, loans, net worth; entry is manual only never require a subscription. Convenience JSON backup and register CSV export unlock with Lifetime. GDPR download stays available. The only subscription is optional Viridel Plus for cloud sync and household sharing.

What is the refund policy?

All sales are final. Start with the 34-day Free trial before you buy. We do not offer product-regret refunds on the Lifetime license or Viridel Plus. Full details: https://viridel.app/refund

How do I sign in?

Google only. No passwords, no email links. One tap and you are in.

Why Google-only?

It is the most secure and frictionless option, and it ties your subscription permanently to your account so it can never be lost or spoofed.

Do I need an account to use the free browser app?

You sign in once with Google (required for the hosted web app). The 34-day Free trial starts after that. After the trial, budgeting is view-only until Lifetime. Your ledger stays local-first; Plus is optional cloud sync.

Where is my data stored?

Locally first, on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you enable optional Viridel Plus cloud sync. Plus copies travel over TLS and rest as AES-256 in Supabase Frankfurt (EU). That is not end-to-end encryption. Row-level security keeps other users out. The marketing site is served from Vercel Frankfurt; Cloudflare may cache public assets (US-east). Transactional email uses Resend (Ireland).

If I sync for 10 years, what happens to my cloud data?

While your account and Plus subscription are active, your synced finance data is kept in the cloud with no rolling time cap — whether that is months or decades (including 50+ years). There is no “2-month only” purge for active Plus subscribers. If you cancel Plus, sync stops at the end of the paid period (local data and Lifetime stay). If you delete your account, cloud data is purged after a short recovery window (full removal within 30 days). Always keep a local export backup.

Can Viridel Plus prices increase later?

Yes. Under the Terms of Service, subscription prices may change with at least 30 days' notice by email before the new rate applies to an active subscription. Completed Lifetime purchases keep their license terms. You may cancel Plus before the effective date; sync remains until the end of the paid period. Server and payment costs can rise over time — that is why Plus is a subscription, while Lifetime stays a one-time native-app unlock.

What happens when I cancel Plus?

Cloud sync is suspended after the paid period ends. Your Lifetime license (if any) and all local data on your devices are never taken away. You can export anytime from Settings. Re-subscribe later to resume sync.

Can I export my data?

Yes — GDPR download (local + cloud + identity) is always available in Settings for your rights. Convenience JSON backup and register CSV export unlock with Lifetime. Transaction entry is manual on every plan.

Is my data encrypted?

Cloud data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Per-user isolation is enforced at the database level. Local-only users never send finance records to our servers.

Which platforms are supported?

The hosted web app is live now (34-day Free trial, then Lifetime for unlimited budgeting). Native Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android apps ship Q1 2027 included with Lifetime. Plus alone does not unlock native apps.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Local-first means budgeting works without internet. If you use Plus, sync catches up when you reconnect.

Does Viridel send reminders?

Lifetime includes local OS notifications for bills, subscriptions, loan EMIs, savings goals, and more (opt-in in Settings). Free does not. Plus alone does not unlock local reminders — remote push for shared-household alerts is Plus-only. There is no server marketing push.

How do I unlock the mobile apps?

When native apps ship Q1 2027, buy Lifetime on the website or as an in-app purchase on the App Store or Google Play, then Sign In. One Lifetime is enough — do not buy both. Plus does not unlock native apps.

Which currencies does Viridel support?

150+ ISO 4217 currencies plus custom emoji or symbol currencies. Pick a home currency in Settings; accounts can use a different currency on the same ledger. Checkout stays in EUR (Dodo). Money on screen formats to your home currency and region.

Can I budget in more than one currency?

Yes. Set a home currency for Ready to Assign, then hold GBP, EUR, INR, USD, or a custom currency in other accounts. You are not forced into a second budget file.

Does Viridel fetch live exchange rates?

Lifetime keeps FX rates manual and on-device — privacy-first, no live FX network. Optional live mid-market rates are Free trial / Plus only, and only when you opt in. If a live fetch fails, rates fall back to the last manual value.

Can I budget with my partner?

Yes. Viridel Plus (€4/mo, or €40/yr yearly) unlocks a shared household budget — one Ready to Assign ledger you both join with invite codes. You never share bank credentials or sync a bank. Both partners need Plus; Free and Lifetime users can add it. Bare Lifetime alone does not include household sharing.

Is shared budgeting the same as bank sync?

No. Shared budgets sync only the Viridel ledger you already enter manually. Viridel never asks for bank login or open-banking credentials — alone or as a couple.
